Open a file in a hex viewer
Sometimes it's convenient to open a file and see its contents as just bytes. Notepad does this but it's impossible to distinguish one non-printable character from another. If you have visual studio, you have a hex viewer. In the file open dialog, click your file name then click the little drop down arrow on the "Open" button and pick "open with..." From there, pick "Binary Editor" Just be careful because it's an EDITOR, not just a viewer.
