The Phantom Coke Machine

I've been watching what I eat (and drink) since getting here. The siren call of the coke machine has been a red herring as the dollar bill eater hasn't been working. I was standing near it the other day with JD, complaining, and he poked a bill at it. The thing made the noise like it was trying to accept it but spit it back out. That's been progress because for me it always just ignored my attempts to trade. So this morning, I decided to brute force it. I shoved my crisp, pristine dollar into the slot about 50 times. Once it made an attempt the do something. A few more pokes and what to my wondering eyes did appear!? No not eight tiny reindeer but it spit out a crumpled old dollar. I guess it had jammed up. So one more poke and I got some coke and silver in exchange for my dollar. Some guy happened to be there to witness the event and said he'd lost 3 bucks to the machine. So I gave the crumpled one to him. He was pretty happy too as he professed being a coke man forced into a pepsi habit.
Now I just have to be careful I don't get into to big a habit. Been losing weight and don't want to reverse the trend.
